Culture Stand & Merchandise Coordinator Contractor

GOAL

Work with the Live Culture Coast team and merchandise partner to coordinate the development and sale of merchandise and execution of the Culture Stand traveling visitor center for the 10 days of the festival between October 18-27, 2019, providing excellent customer service to all participants. 

Live Culture Coast is in it’s pilot year.  We have already learned a lot in the past 8 months and will continue to do so through the end of the year.  You must be excited to join a dynamic team that has a roadmap but also knows that the process has bumps and turns.  Communication, flexibility, work ethic, and a sense of humor all get the job done!

DELIVERABLES

  • Place merchandise order, verify inventory counts upon arrival, and create an attractive display in the Culture Stand in conjunction with Creative Director

  • Provide any requests for volunteers to the Volunteer Coordinator.  Supervise any Volunteers assigned to you.

  • Collaborate with Registrar to sell tickets and maps at the Culture Stand

  • Work with Creative Director to understand and possess any necessary permits for the Culture Stand

  • Acquire needs for the Culture Stand at each spot such as electricity, hot spot, etc in conjunction with Creative Director

  • Acquire a cash box and credit card processing, keep accurate accounting records, and make deposits as needed in conjunction with Creative Director

  • Transport and position the Culture Stand to/in each of it’s designated locations.

  • Open the Culture Stand for operation during the agreed upon hours of operation and securely pack up when not open. 

  • Report any structural or equipment issues to Creative Director.

  • Provide excellent customer service (answering questions and such) while also selling tickets, merchandise, maps, and any sponsor products

  • Conduct an inventory count on night of Monday 10/21 or morning 10/22 to access if need to replenish stock for remainder of the week. Orders must be placed by noon on 10/22. 

  • Return Culture Stand, remaining merchandise, cash box, computers, and all other materials to Creative Director by agreed upon date and time.

  • Submit accounting reconciliation within a week after the festival.

  • Complete a debrief with the Producer post-festival

Both Saturdays have +’s because we anticipate connecting with the headlining dinners happening those nights.  Just not yet sure how. 

STIPEND

This will be a free lance contract with South Coast Development Council overseen by Amber Peoples, Creative Director of Live Culture Coast.  Invoices will be addressed to SCDC.  Payment will be $2000 to be paid in 2 installments of $1000 by September 30, 2019 and by December 1, 2019. Live Culture Coast will provide lodging (as needed) during the days contractor is required to be in the area.
