Your taste for mushrooms may evolve into a full-spore passion after this experience. Learn how Myrtle Glen Farm cultivate shiitakes, oyster, and king Stropharia mushrooms on their land, get a short course in mushroom biology, and (should you wish) learn to grow them yourself. With your newfound mycological knowhow and with a mushroom-identification expert as your guide, you’ll then head into the forest to find edible and medicinal fungi in the wild.

Experience Notes

  • The foray will be outdoors rain or shine, so bring gear for the weather.

Meet Your Southern Oregon Coast Hosts
We are Micha and Dan of Myrtle Glen Farm. Micha is an expert in mushroom identification and we both have extensive experience in foraging, selling, preserving, and cooking wild mushrooms. We also cultivate mushrooms at our farm and are available to go over techniques to teach you how to grow their own culinary treats, as well as how to preserve and harness the medicinal benefits of mushrooms.
